WIC (Women, Infants and Children)

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children that is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture.

WIC provides high-quality nutritional care and food to participants.  This includes milk, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal, dried beans or peas, peanut butter and iron-fortified formula that supply crucial nutrients such as protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins A and C essential to maintain health.

The Virginia WIC Program serves low-income pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five.

WIC Clinics are held:

At Oxbow Center in St. Paul on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month  (serving Russell, Wise and portions of Dickenson County)

And at Litchfield Apartments in Coeburn on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
